Standard 2- Understands Developments: The developing professional understands how children learn and develop, and provides opportunities supporting intellectual, social, and personal growth.
This was a lesson that I taught at Culler Middle School about clothing and colors. This was intended to teach (more so review) key vocabulary and learn basic grammar rules with both clothing and colors because they have to agree with one another in number and in gender. This belongs under standard two because at designated times students were able to socialize with their neighbor over what they may not have understood, looking to make personal growth along the way both socially and intellectually. This also tested their growth throughout the class period on what they had learned by having a quiz at the end displaying intellectual growth.
This was a lesson that I taught at Culler Middle School with Eighth Graders about clothing and colors. Essentially this has the same basic setup as a Sixth Grade lesson plan, but I tried to allow these students a bit more freedom and more time to work with a partner because at that age they are maturely able to handle a larger scale project which showed their social development. I labeled this under standard two because students were able to grow throughout class and talk about what they learned showing how they improved showing their personal and intellectual growth
